Alexander's Bio
Hello everyone!
My name is Alexander, and I was born and raised in Ukraine. As a child, I was introduced to swimming to improve my health, and from that moment, my life was set on a specific path. I quickly fell in love with the sport, which gave me a newfound confidence that I carried with me throughout my life.
After several years of dedicated training, I was selected to attend a specialized sports school, marking the beginning of my professional athletic career. At just 16 years old, I competed in my first international event – the Youth Olympic European Games in Spain – where I earned a top-8 finish in both the 1500m freestyle and 400m individual medley. Over the years, I have become a national champion in Ukraine more than ten times and have been honored to represent my country at European, World, and University Games championships. I trained and competed in various countries alongside some of the top athletes and coaches in European and world swimming, and it boosted my passion, plus my knowledge of the sport expanded significantly.
Throughout my career, I was fortunate to achieve several notable results, including ranking in the top 25 in the world in the 1500m freestyle in 2005 and finishing 12th at the Open Water World Championships in Italy in 2006. At one point, I ventured into professional triathlon, where I competed for several years, eventually placing 20th at the European Cup and 10th at the Asian Championships. This career phase deepened my understanding of sports science and training methodologies.
Thanks to my athletic journey, I traveled around the globe and met people from all corners of the sports world. Eventually, I realized I wanted to share my knowledge and experiences with others, so I began coaching. I balanced coaching with my athletic career for several years, but when I moved to the United States, I had to restart my coaching career from the ground up in a new country.
During this challenging transition, I rediscovered swimming as a form of therapy, inspiring me to resume my training while continuing to coach. I began competing in U.S. Swimming and Masters championships, further fueling my passion for the sport. To this day, I have coached thousands of swimmers of all ages and abilities, and my understanding of swimming has grown exponentially.
Swimming remains my primary hobby. I still compete in Masters Nationals, where I’ve won national titles about 20 times. Outside of swimming, I enjoy various sports, traveling, videography, and music. I also have a cat and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law. My sports heroes are Muhammad Ali and Michael Jordan. As a coach, my ultimate goal is to develop an Olympic champion.

Anastasia's Bio
Hi, I’m Anastasia, originally from Ukraine, and sports have been a central part of my life from an early age. Growing up in a sports-oriented family, I was involved in multiple athletic activities as a child and teenager. However, my journey with sports took a turn when I experienced the unprofessional attitudes of some coaches, which led me to step away from athletics for a time. This experience, though difficult, gave me valuable insight into what makes a great coach – emphasizing the importance of knowledge, psychology, and discipline in shaping not just athletes but well-rounded individuals.
When I moved to the United States, I discovered my true passion for swimming. It quickly became the one constant in my life, a pursuit that continues to challenge and inspire me. Over time, I stepped out of my comfort zone and participated in my first-ever competition – Masters Swimming. That experience marked a significant turning point, as I embraced the excitement of competition and realized the power of setting and achieving personal goals.
Now, as a coach, I combine my passion for swimming with my personal experiences to help athletes build their technical skills, mental resilience, and discipline. I focus on fostering a strong work ethic, developing solid techniques, and cultivating a mindset that drives success. My goal is to guide each athlete to reach their full potential, both in the pool and in life.
Outside of coaching, I’m a big lover of books and believe in the power of continuous learning. Whether you’re just beginning your swimming journey or aiming for competitive success, I’m here to support you every stroke of the way. Let’s build your skills, mindset, and passion for swimming together!

3 days, 12 swimmers, 61 events, 🥇×15, 🥈×5, 🥉×9 Thanks @t2.aquatics for a great opportunity to race at this meet! See y'all in the blue lanes 💙 Let's go Torpedoes 🚀

What does it take to compete at this level? At a prelims/finals meet, swimmers must show an extreme level of endurance, consistency, and discipline. On average, they swim 5,000 yards per competition day, that’s 15,000 yards over three straight days. That’s not something the average person can handle. But for those who put in the work, nothing is impossible. We’re proud to have such dedicated, resilient athletes representing us. Let’s go, Torpedoes! 🚀💚

The year has kicked off the best way possible 🏊🏼♂️ All groups are back at it, working hard and setting the tone early. Days are getting longer, but for now we’re still grinding through practices with those gorgeous sunsets 🌅 First swim meet of the year is already this week, let’s go! 🚀

As we wrap up the year, we wanted to share some exciting highlights from our 2025 team life and accomplishments. First, we are incredibly proud to announce that our swim school has introduced more than 100 beginner and novice swimmers to the water this year! Back in April our Team also earned official recognition from USA Swimming, and we began our competitive journey with swimmers racing at some of the top championship meets in the state. Our fall season was especially full and rewarding. We competed in several meets, and many of our youngest swimmers participated in their first-ever swim championships, what a huge milestone. Watching our athletes grow in the pool and thrive in life has truly been our greatest reward. We also enjoyed celebrating the holidays together on deck. Kids brought toys to practice, the morning group kept a countdown to Christmas, and there was plenty of singing, laughing, overcoming tough sets, and supporting each other. Our experienced swimmers have been lifting up our rookies, helping them become true Torpedoes. Our team philosophy is clearly coming to life and yes, our intense water polo battles continued to be a highlight! As we head into the 2026 and prepare for a smooth transition into it, we know our biggest victories are still ahead. We are grateful for every single family who joined and supported us this year. Happy New Year Everyone! 🎄🏊🏼♂️🚀💚

What a year it has been! In 2025, Torpedo continued to grow, not just as a club, but as a society. Our swimmers and their families grew in their swim journey, professionalism, and commitment. We raced everywhere, from state championships to local fun meets, pushing ourselves and supporting one another every step of the way. We celebrated holidays together, faced challenges together, and shared countless unforgettable moments. As we look ahead to what 2026 has to offer, one thing is certain: no matter what comes next, Torpedo will only keep getting better. 🚀🏊♂️💚

🎄🎅 Congratulations to our amazing swim team! Your dedication, teamwork, and hard work made this season truly special. As we celebrate, we’re proud of everything you’ve achieved in and out of the pool. This year was not an easy one, but every single time we left the pool, we did so feeling fulfilled, grateful, and proud. Your resilience, commitment, and heart made all the difference. Please know that every word of support and every hug your kids gave us truly changed our world! We are so thankful for the amazing, sweet, and thoughtful gifts but truly, the greatest gift of all is every single one of you. Wishing you a joyful holiday season filled with rest, happiness, and well-earned celebrations. Stay awesome Torpedoes! 💚🏊🏼♂️

As we head into the Christmas holidays, we’re taking a moment to relive some of the most memorable moments from this part of the season and our recent meet in Port Charlotte definitely tops the list! Our Performance Squad absolutely crushed it, with Torpedoes finishing in top spots across the board: 🏊♂️ Isaac competed all three days, captured gold in the 100 Backstroke, and earned the High Point Award for his age group. 🔥 Dryden was unstoppable, winning every event he entered: 500 Free, 100 Free, and 200 Butterfly. 🥇🥈🥉 Alejandro brought home a full set of hardware: gold in 200 Back, silver in 100 Free, and bronze in 200 Fly. 💪 David had an outstanding meet with gold in the 1650 Free, silver in 400 IM, 200 Breaststroke, and 200 Fly. 👑 Bella proved she’s among the fastest in Florida, sweeping gold in 200 IM, 50 Fly, 100 Free, and 100 Breaststroke. 💥 Lyla earned silver in the 500 Free and a strong 3rd place finish in the 200 Breaststroke. Way to go, Torpedoes! 🚀🔥 We’re proud of this momentum as we head into the holidays and set our sights on an even stronger new year!

Water polo is one of the most beneficial activities for swimmers, offering both physical and mental advantages. After intense swim practices, playing water polo helps reduce stress and refresh the mind while still staying active in the water. Beyond recovery, water polo builds courage and mental toughness. The fast pace and physical nature of the game challenge athletes to stay confident, resilient, and focused under pressure. It also strengthens team camaraderie, encouraging swimmers to communicate, support one another, and work together toward a common goal. Most importantly, water polo serves as an effective form of stress management. It adds variety, fun, and competition to training, helping swimmers stay motivated and balanced throughout the season. Incorporating water polo into swim training creates stronger, more confident, and more connected athletes both in and out of the pool. 🤽♂️🏐💪🏼

There's always something to be gratful for. This is what our little Torpedoes are gratful for 🙏🏽💚

S = Success 🚀🏊🏼♂️💚

November Update 🏊♂️ Our high school swimmers wrapped up their season strong, with several making it to regionals. Congrats, Torpedoes! 💪 As a year-round team, though, we’re basically just getting started our competition season. The Torpedoes are gearing up for our next meet on November 22nd, and an even bigger one in December. With winter time settling in, our evening practices come with powerful swims and stunning sunsets over the pool. The water’s warm, the team’s strong, and we’re ready for an exciting few weeks ahead! 🌅🔥
